LEVEL — GROUND · THE STUDIO
We are a residential interior design studio for Sydney homes. Renovations, new builds, apartments and styling all start the same way here: at floor level, with the layout, and then up through the benches, the walls and the ceiling.

LEVEL — FLOOR
01 · WHO WE DESIGN FOR
Our work is residential. That means family houses being opened up, older terraces that need their rooms to work harder, new homes still on paper and apartments where every metre counts. We don’t design offices or shopfronts, so every decision we make is about how a household actually lives day to day.
Some clients come to us before a builder is appointed and need the full picture, from space planning and design documentation through to the last cushion. Others have a finished shell and want the rooms completed with furniture selection and interior styling. Both are real starting points, and we scope the work to match.
LEVEL — SECTION
An architect’s section drawing cuts through a building at a set height, so you can see what sits where. We read a home the same way. Decisions low in the house, such as walls, plumbing and circulation, fix what’s possible higher up. So we settle them first and add each layer on top.
This order stops the costly surprises: a vanity that has to be re-ordered because the waste pipe can’t move, or a pendant that ends up over the wrong spot because the table moved.

LEVEL — BENCH
The full sequence, from first meeting to styling, is set out on our Design Process page. These are the habits behind it.
i.
Where a decision is hard to picture, we model it with 3D Interior Visualisation. That way scale, sightlines and finishes are agreed on screen, not argued about on site.
ii.
Builders, cabinetmakers and electricians quote and build from the same documents. That keeps the finished home close to the agreed design.
iii.
Strong sun, deep shade on the south side, and coastal or leafy outlooks all change how colour and material read. We test samples in the rooms they’re meant for.
iv.
Not everything needs replacing. Good furniture, sound joinery and pieces with meaning are worked into the new scheme instead of being thrown out.
SECTION B–B | LEVEL: WALL | SAMPLE BOARD
LEVEL — WALL
Most of a design happens at the table. We lay real samples side by side, compare them against drawings and cut the choices down until each surface earns its place.
If you want to read before we meet, the Design Journal covers topics from colour palettes for Sydney light to what affects interior design costs. You can also browse the Projects references.

Tell us which level of your home is changing, whether that’s the layout, the surfaces or the finishing layer, and we’ll talk through where to begin. For general questions, see the FAQ or contact the studio.
